Jessica Steele-Sanders
Creator and co-author of the “Rescue Sirens: Mermaids On Duty” book series, Jessica Steele-Sanders has a background in conservation education instruction and marine mammal care. She was raised in Florida with pets instead of siblings before eventually moving to California and marrying Chris. It was her search for a second family dog that led her to finding Buckley, who became the real-life model for Buck in “The Call of the Wild.”
Chris Sanders
Former story artist and writer for classic Disney animated films like “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Lion King,” and “Mulan,” Chris Sanders went on to create, co-write, and co-direct Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch,” a movie designed entirely in his unique personal drawing style. He then co-wrote and co-directed “How to Train Your Dragon” and “The Croods” for DreamWorks before directing 20th Century Studios’ “The Call of the Wild,” his live-action film debut.
